We are seeking a Laboratory Test Engineer to support the testing activities of railway systems and vehicles, with a specific focus on locomotives and locomotive simulation environments. In this role, you will be involved in laboratory-based testing, system-level validation, and simulator testing in accordance with EN railway standards, contributing to certification and project quality objectives.
You will work closely with system engineers, V&V teams, and customers to ensure that test activities are executed accurately, documented properly, and aligned with project milestones.

Your tasks:
Review and analyze input documentation (system/subsystem requirements, functional specifications, interface descriptions, circuit diagrams).
Support the preparation and review of test specifications and test procedures for laboratory and simulator-based testing.
Execute system and subsystem tests on: Railway locomotives, or Locomotive simulators (HIL / SIL / functional simulators).
Perform functional and integration tests using structured test cases and ensure requirements traceability.
Support validation activities in compliance with EN railway standards and customer requirements.
Document test execution and prepare test reports as part of verification and validation deliverables.
Support the analysis of test results, including anomaly reporting and re-test activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams during test campaigns and project reviews.
Contribute to continuous improvement of test methods, tools, and lab setups.

Your profile:
Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, or similar).
At least 1.5–2 years of documented experience in: Testing of railway systems or vehicles, preferably locomotives, or Vehicle testing of locomotive simulators or railway simulation environments.
Basic knowledge of railway EN standards, such as: EN 50126 / EN 50128 / EN 50129. (EN 50155, EN 50121, EN 61373 are considered as a plus.)
Experience or familiarity with test management and requirements tools (e.g. DOORS, Polarion, Jira, or similar).
Structured and detail-oriented approach to test execution and documentation.
Ability to work in technical teams and interface with customers in a professional manner.
Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and autonomy in assigned activities.
Fluent in English, German is a valuable plus.
