Project-S is looking for a Spacecraft EPS & Avionics Engineer to develop and integrate electrical power and avionics systems for satellite missions.
You will work on power generation, energy storage, power distribution, protection, avionics interfaces, high-peak-load payload operation, FlatSat integration, and electrical verification.

What you will do
Design and maintain spacecraft electrical power architectures.
Build power budgets, energy budgets, peak-power budgets, load tables, and power-mode definitions.
Size and integrate solar panels, batteries, supercapacitors, converters, regulators, load switches, fuses, protection circuits, inhibit lines, and deployment switches.
Evaluate battery-supercapacitor hybrid architectures for high-peak-load payload operation.
Support board bring-up, current profiling, battery cycling, supercapacitor charge/discharge testing, fault-injection testing, and electrical verification.
Create harness diagrams, connector pinouts, grounding/shielding concepts, electrical ICDs, and test procedures.

What we are looking for
Background in electrical engineering, electronics, power electronics, aerospace, mechatronics, or similar.
Ability to build spacecraft power budgets and energy balances across operating modes.
Experience with Li-ion/LiPo batteries, BMS, cell balancing, safe charging, under-voltage protection, over-current protection, and battery safety logic.
Understanding of supercapacitor sizing, ESR, leakage, balancing, voltage derating, ageing, and peak-current behaviour.
Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters, current probes, logic analyzers, and thermal cameras.

Application note
Please include a one-page note:
How would you size a battery, supercapacitor bank, and power-distribution system for a satellite payload with high peak power but lower average power?

Project-S is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age, sexual orientation, or identity.
