Direct ELEC teams (construction & engineering): set objectives, allocate resources, mentor performance, and ensure delivery to safety, quality, time and cost targets.
Safety & quality governance: champion Mercury safety and quality; approve QA/QC plans, RAMS, and permit regimes; enforce “Right First Time” and COHE/LOTO requirements in live environments.
Programme & cost control: collaborate with planner to develop a constructible schedule; monitor progress/WBS; manage variations and valuations with QS; support recovery plans when required.
Commercial & cost control: establish budgets, approve procurement strategies, track costs/revenue, variations and valuations; lead weekly commercial reviews and change control.
Design coordination & technical assurance: review IFC/design, resolve RFIs; ensure builders’ works and setting-out are complete; maintain as-builts and O&M deliverables.
Supply chain & materials: plan labour, materials and subcontractors; align procurement and logistics to programme; track long-leads and goods-receipting.
Reporting & controls: issue daily/weekly reports (progress, risks, labour projections, safety stats); maintain photographic diary and evidence for QA/EHS and commercial entitlement.
Electrical systems delivery: oversee installation, testing and integration of UPS, STS, EPMS, generators, busbar systems, PDUs, MV/LV switchgear, earthing/bonding and critical feeders.
Interface management: coordinate with CSA/Mechanical/ICT; ensure route access, containment, penetrations, fire-stopping and systems interfaces (BMS/SCADA/EPMS) are ready.
Testing & commissioning: plan FAT/SAT, pre-functional tests, energisation steps, and IST; manage punch/snags close-out and readiness for handover.
Documentation & reporting: issue weekly internal/external progress reports; maintain photographic diary; ensure O&M, safety file and QA file close-out.
Snagging, testing & commissioning: manage in-progress snagging/punch list closure; develop and implement test/commissioning procedures; ensure O&M, as-builts and area readiness for handover.
Close-out: lead final account settlement and complete Safety File, QA File and project documentation with the project team.
Digital delivery leadership: implement BIM collaboration in an ISO 19650-aligned Common Data Environment (CDE), with model-based coordination and disciplined information management.
Germany regulatory compliance: ensure Baustellenverordnung (SiGe-Plan, coordination), VOB/HOAI contractual frameworks, and DGUV accident prevention rules are embedded in delivery.
Standards & compliance: align LV installations with DIN VDE 0100 (IEC 60364); ensure assemblies comply with EN/IEC 61439 and fire alarm integrations per DIN 14675.
Data-center standards: plan electrical infrastructure to EN 50600 (power supply, KPI reporting, availability classes) and related technical reports for energy KPIs.
Arc-flash & electrical safety: perform risk assessments per DGUV guidance; select PPE and label equipment accordingly.
Construction regulations: embed Baustellenverordnung requirements (SiGe-Plan, coordination with SiGeKo); follow VOB/B contract procedures and HOAI phases for design/service coordination.
Grid connection: coordinate with DSO/TSO and comply with Technical Connection Rules (VDE-AR-N 4110/4120) and local TAB for HV/MV connections where applicable.
Essential Criteria For The Role
Trade background and/or degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
7+ years’ experience leading large electrical installation projects, ideally mission-critical/data centers.
Strong command of MV/LV power distribution, UPS/generator systems, EPMS/BMS integration and commissioning.
Proven programme, commercial and stakeholder management skills; fluent English
Working knowledge of DIN VDE 0100/IEC 60364, EN/IEC 61439, DIN 14675, and site EHS governance.
