Flight Test Engineer (m/f/d) {Ingenieur/in – Maschinenbau}

Our focus is on advising the German Armed Forces and allied military forces in matters related to military research and technology. To support our team, we are looking for a Flight Test Engineer (m/f/d) YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: – Plan and execute UAV flight tests and campaigns – Design and execute comprehensive test plans – Collaborate closely with software developers and hardware engineers for rapid iterations – Conduct pre-flight, post-flight inspections and maintenance, logging test data and anomalies – Coordinate closely with production, remote pilots, ground crew, software and systems engineers to ensure test readiness – Analyze flight data, prepare test & incident reports, and recommend improvements – Ensure flight readiness, safety and regulatory compliance – Assist in documentation and drafting of manuals, checklists, etc. – Support with campaigns within Germany QUALIFICATION: – Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field – At least A1/A3 drone license, ideally, A2 – Experience in flying rotary and fixed-wing UAVs both in manual and automatic mode – Practical experience planning and conducting system or flight tests. – Experience with data processing and analysis using tools such as MATLAB or Python – Proficient in English – Driving license class B – Straight communication and ability to give clear and direct feedback – A plus is o experience with flight control systems o knowledge of SORA process – Willingness to travel within Germany CONTRACTUAL DETAILS: – Flexible working hours and possibility for remote work – Flat hierarchy and fast decision making – Attractive compensation – Start date as soon as possible Interested?
